Starting on April 18 will begin the series on “The Hero’s Journey”. This will be a 5 week series taking us all the way through June.
The Hero’s Journey talks about the components to great stories through history. Why did Jesus talk in Parables? Because when we hear a great story, we become the story and see the world through the eyes of the characters in the story - the story becomes real to us. Every story has a hero and each story asks us to take his journey. From a call out of our ordinary situations, through trials that challenge our determination, to developing a greater sense of what we are capable of accomplishing, the Hero’s Journey is an adventure that God has commissioned us to take.

FLIP THIS HOUSE: TRANSFORMED
Scripture: Romans 12:1-2 NIV
I have had the opportunity over the last 5 years to do some property flipping. What is property flipping properties? Well, if you have watched the cable shows like “Flip This House” and “Flip That House” you know that property flipping is where an investor and/or a contractor will buy a house in disrepair, renovate the property, and then sell it for a profit.
One of the most exciting parts of property flipping is seeing the end product. It is amazing to see the Transformation that takes place in a home that was left destitude and abondoned turn into a beautiful home that now has a lot of value. When I watch these house flipping shows it is interesting to watch the reaction of the people who live in the neighborhood as this house goes through this tremendous transformation not just on the inside but also on the outside.
The amazing thing is that time and time again God has done the same with individuals. He changes us. He takes us from a state of destitution and abandonment, and turns us into something beautiful and with value. And just like watching the response of the people in Flip That House, it is amazing to hear the stories of the people around us who see the transformation take place.
